Jeri started life as an “Air Force brat” and moved around the country before landing in South Florida during high school. After college, she became a corporate employee, specializing in marketing, promotions and event coordination. Jeri started dancing as a Lindy Hopper in January of 1999, after falling in love with the dancing in movies such as “Swingers”, “Swing Kids” and the GAP commercial. She became a founding member of Swing Affair in 2002 (an organization that helps preserve the music and dance of Swing and Lindy Hop). She is one of the organizers of Swing Affair’s big annual January event, SoFLeX (South Florida Lindy eXchange), and has helped run this event for eight years. Even with traveling and dancing in other cities, the limited Lindy Hop dance venues led her to look for other forms of dance. She started West Coast Swing in the summer of 2009, and has been hooked ever since. She picked up some Two Step, Hustle and Salsa along the way, but WCS continues to be her number one dance. She now studies with Rick Weston and assists him with his weekly calendar, appointments and scheduling. Jeri holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Humanities, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, both from Florida Atlantic University.
